OSSIPEE PUBLIC LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING
DATE: January 12, 2016
PLACE: Ossipee Public Library
PRESENT: Dottie Kwiatkowski
Treasurer: Karen Deighan
Secretary: Jane ter Kuile
Library Director: Maria Moulton
Next Meeting Date: Monday, February 8, 2016
Jane called the meeting to order at 1:02. She delegated Dottie to continue as acting chair for the meeting.
The Secretary’s report was reviewed and accepted. Karen moved/ Dottie seconded.
The Treasurer’s Report was reviewed and accepted. Jane moved/Dottie seconded. Karen reported that $4,750 in appropriated funds for 2015 had been returned to the town. A motion was made by Karen to have Elaine paid out of part time wages during 2016 and at the end of the year, move the $1,200 designated for bookkeeper in the budget, from the bookkeeper line to part time wages. Jane seconded this motion. This is a simpler way of handling Elaine’s wages, and to make a budget change at this point would entail redoing the budget and going back to the Budget Committee for approval. Karen also discovered that Maria had a $37 bank for making change for fees charged. This is against RSA. Starting with January, deposits won’t be given to the Treasurer until the 15th of the month for the previous month. This will allow for two weeks of fees to be collected and this money can be used to make change. The current $37 will be entered as a donation.
Director’s Report: Maria presented the Director’s report. Jane motioned to accept/Dottie seconded. Maria reported that there was still an issue with the roof heat tapes. She will contact Brad to have this remedied. Maria also had prepared a report to be included in the Town Report which was reviewed and accepted.
We discussed possible candidates for the board and will continue this discussion next month.
Maria inquired into subscribing to Amazon Prime. The cost is $90 per year, but gives the library preferred pricing and availability on products and there are no shipping costs. The Board approved this request.
It was agreed to hold off on discussion of interior repairs until John returned in February.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:55.
Respectfully submitted. Jane ter Kuile, Secretary
