Library Director: Maria Moulton
No Meeting in July: August Meeting Date: To be determined
John called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
The Secretary’s report for the May 12, 2017 meeting was read and accepted. John motioned, Judy seconded.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and accepted. Jane motioned, John seconded. Judy provided revised April 2017 reports.
The Library Director’s report was presented by Maria. The report was accepted. John motioned, Jane seconded. Maria reported that Hannaford’s had sold 29 Cause Bags and would be sending us a check for $29. Maria received the 10 new computers from CDW-G and ordered the Microsoft Office programs from TechSoup for $29 each. The cost for the same programs through CDW-G was $293 each. Maria determined that is was too late to get bids for the mini split A/C units and the Town negotiations were completed. However the Friends of the Library have offered to purchase window units. Maria will see what their intention is and in the meantime get one of Brad’s men to install the units we have. This year’s Summer Reading Program is Build a Better World. Kickoff for the program will be Friday June 30 at Town Hall with the Hampstead Stage Company performing Beauty and the Beast. Maria has lots of activities lined up during the summer for the reading program. Other programs scheduled are Adult Coloring, Ossipee Listens, and Teen and 4-H night. Maria attended the RALi (Rochester Area Libraries) meeting on June 1 in Wolfeboro. Maria has contacted Granite State Glass to get the broken picture window replaced.
We then discussed using the balance of the Joan O’Hara donation to help pay for the new computers. The repairs to the upstairs rooms were paid for by this donation. We agreed to use the remainder of the funds for the computers. John motioned/Jane seconded. Maria will see about getting a plaque noting that repairs and new technology were due to Joan’s generosity.
As the library closes at 5 on Tuesday, discussion on upstairs seating, and carpeting was deferred until August.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:45.
Respectively submitted, Jane ter Kuile, Secretary.
