DATE: May 10, 2016
PLACE: Ossipee Public Library
PRESENT: Chairman: John Mingori
Treasurer: Judy Perry
Secretary: Jane ter Kuile
Members: Dottie Kwiatkowski
Library Director: Maria Moulton
Next Meeting Date: Tuesday, June 14, 2016
John called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
The Secretary’s report for the April 12, 2016 meeting was read and accepted. Dottie motioned, Judy seconded.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and accepted. Jane motioned, Dottie seconded. Judy inquired into the possibility of generating the financial reports at the end of the month instead of on the date of the meeting. She will check at the upcoming conference and we will revisit this next month.
The Library Director’s report was presented by Maria. The report was accepted. Jane motioned, Judy seconded. Maria reported that Elaine would like to track sick leave, vacation, and holiday pay on the paychecks. This was okayed by the Board. Windows 10 has been successfully loaded into all but one computer. The insurance company rejected our claim for water damage. Maria talked with Brad and he has turned this project over to Steve. John suggested that Maria talk with Steve to see where we go at this point. Jane asked if we should get bids to see what avenue we have to pursue for funding. The Water and Sewer Commission recently tested the water at the Library and it is just below the “lead action level”. Maria expressed concern for the “bubbler” that many people use. John will check to see if there is a filter that could be installed. Maria also talked with Bo Eldridge about this. Bo said the hydrants in town are due to be flushed and that should clear the problem. Once the flushing is complete, we will request another test be done.
The Board then began reviewing the Library Policy and OPL financial policy. Several areas were addressed. This discussion will continue at next month’s meeting and revised policies will be generated.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:15.
Respectively submitted, Jane ter Kuile, Secretary.
