Katie Newbegin from Plymouth State University will be at the Ossipee Public Library for preschool story time on Tuesday, September 27 at 10:30 am to present “Who Grew My Lunch?”
Who Grew My Lunch? Is a project that is geared toward promoting food literacy for students in grades K-12. Food literacy is understanding where food comes from, the impacts of health, the environment and the economy as well as how to grow, prepare, and prefer nutritious food. Plymouth State University is launching this project because children, families and communities stand to benefit from a better understanding of today’s food system. Food literacy education engages students to learn new skills and value the hard work of local farmers.
Ms. Newbegin will be reading a story to the children and follow up the story with a fun activity. This is free and open to the public.
