Jerry Schneider will present a butterfly slideshow at the Ossipee Public Library on Thursday, July 7 at 6:30 pm followed by a tee shirt craft. Jerry Schneider, inventor of the award winning Butterfly Game, has presented nature programs in schools and libraries for the past thirteen years throughout the Eastern U.S. His program is a wonderful slide show that takes a look at interesting features about butterflies (did you know that they taste with their feet?), distinguishes moths from butterflies, and teaches audiences how to bring butterflies into their back yards and gardens. Audiences will learn about the amazing Monarch migration to Mexico, with incredible photos of Monarch butterflies clustering by the thousands in Oyamel fir trees in the high mountains of Michoacan. The program concludes with a wonderful butterfly tee shirt craft – children may purchase heavy cotton tee shirts for $4.00 or bring their own to decorate.
